The role of FTHM in KATUN project
FTHM will analyse the potentials for tourism development in the katuns and mountain area. More precisely, main focus will be put on the key and critical factors that influence on possibilities to develop new products and diversify tourism offers. In line with this, main tourist products and experiences will be identified, especially from price/value and competitiveness point of view. Through the project, practical implications for farmers and other local stakeholders, hotel and tourism planners will be provided, in order to improve and develop new forms of cooperative behaviour between relevant stakeholders, especially through establishment of clusters and katun network. Cooperation and networks of farmers and offer bidders in katuns are identified as key stakeholders in the process, and due to their important role, special focus in research will be to identify practical and efficient methods and models which could provide better promotion of producers and better cooperation with hotel industry.
Through networking and clustering of farmers in katuns, hotels, producers, tourism organizations, trade sector, research and educational institutions and other actors involved in tourism value chain, we will help in creation of better cooperative behaviour between two key economic sectors in Montenegro, agriculture and tourism. The role of FTHM in this cluster will be key and critical, especially in area of guidance and support in identifying relevant knowledge, information, technical support related to tourism in Montenegro (e.g. market, competition, demand, prices, import etc). Apart from that, FTHM will play proactive role in area of education and know-how transfer related to tourism, in order to create convenient business ambient for all relevant stakeholders.
