PRESS CONFERENCE HELD BY THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE: GRANTS AWARDED UP TO 1.2 MILLION EUR TO FIT, BIOTECHNICAL FACULTY AND CLINICAL CENTER OF MONTENEGRO
Out of 18 submitted applications and after the two-stage of the external evaluation, 4 projects were recommended to the Ministry of Science for funding, namely:
- Project of the Faculty of Information Technology from University of the Mediterranean called "LAMS- Construction of monitoring station for lighting research on the mountain Lovcen", project leader Dr. Adis Balota
- Project of the Clinical Center of Montenegro titled "Development, validation and application of telemedicine systems TELEMONTEKG test for fast detection of heart disease in Montenegro", project leader Prof. Dr. Vesna Miranović.
- Project by the Biotechnical Faculty t titled "Katun - Valorising the Montenegrin Katuns through sustainable development of agriculture and tourism," project leader Prof. Dr. Milan Markovic.
- Project of the Clinical Center of Montenegro, called "HLA typing and HLA laboratory in Montenegro" project leader Prof. Dr. Marina Ratkovic.
At the conference were: Mr. Darko Petrušić, HERIC Project Director and the Deputy Minister of Science, who explained the strategic importance of the grant award, Sasa Ivanovic, Project Manager of the HERIC Project, who presented the received applications and the results of the external evaluation, while the explanation of the importance of best rated projects have given the project leaders.
The aim of the grant is to enable research institutions to raise the level of their research and laboratory equipment to a much higher level, worthy of future Centers of Excellence.
